Raise the Roof Concerts present Anna Pauline from Sweden. September 26 th 2015

NEW ALBUM with Anna Pauline: Give Me Time

During the past few years the voice of Anna Pauline, born in the south of Sweden, has been heard more frequently across the Öresund straight, Scandinavia and Europe, where she has collaborated with jazz artists such as Jesper Thilo, Peter Asplund, Magnus Lindgren, Viktoria Tolstoy and Nils Landgren. Pauline has been described as a vitamine injection; a jazz vocalist with great talent and charisma. Anna’s voice – natural, mature and self-assured – is the perfect vehicle for her very personal, narrative and sensitive compositions.

The jazz singer is now releasing her first full-length vocal jazz album – Give me time – with songs from the Great American Songbook – and the musicians on the CD are some of Sweden’s finest, young jazz musicians of today: Elias Källvik, guitar, David Andersson, double bass and Andreas Baw, drums/percussion.

Specially invited musicians to appear as guests on the record, are saxophone player Karl-Martin Almqvist, Mårten Lundgren, trumpet and critically acclaimed pianist Mattias Nilsson.

“Once again, Anna proves that she is one of our nation’s most listenable vocalists… She has a wonderful voice, her intonation is spot-on, and she combines her very personal use of phrasing and dynamics with a warmly, vibrant presence…” Jan Olsson, Skånska Dagbladet

“Thank you for Anna Pauline! She is a very good singer, very relaxed and resting in her way of phrasing as well as rhythmically assured and confident. She does not force herself on anything…. “No diva-shit” as one of my friends would say…” Thorbjørn Sjøgren, Politiken

”…this Anna imitates brilliantly, she delivers first-rate scatsång i högsta klass – hon lyckas faktiskt låta som ett helt instrument…” Per Wikén, Orkesterjournalen
