Odyssey Cornet

I was asked by Peter Pollard to play test his new Odyssey cornet when it first came out and was so impressed that I immediately bought one and sold my professional Yamaha cornet! The Odyssey cornet is a light, responsive instrument with a red-brass leadpipe, and one of the easiest cornets to play that I have ever tried. The tuning is excellent, blow is even and open from low F# to well above the range that a cornet would ever be required to go. The look and engineering standard are equivalent to any professional instrument and after 18 months of daily teaching and regular performance, the valves play like new: fast, smooth and well balanced. I would suggest this to anybody who is looking for a student cornet, or to any professional players who need an affordable cornet for doubling.

  1. Jarrod Harrison says:

The odyssey premier cornet is excellent. The Mount Gambier City Band has just bought one and after playing it I like it more than my Courtois.

The odyssey has no been given to one of our junior members to help him on his way and this has given him the motivation to practice and the results are already evident.
